A Pair of Shoes and a Lamp...

What an absolutely amazing day it has been...I am so thankful for this day and for all that happened.

My mom and I decided to drive down to Rapid City today to do a little shopping and check out some sales.  As we were driving, we decided to continue on to Hill City to go to a little store called Granite City.  It is a cute little outdoors store, and they are the only place in the Black Hills that sells TOMS shoes.  One of my birthday gifts from my parents was that they would buy me a pair of TOMS shoes, and I have been waiting for about a month.  So anyway, my mom and I went to find a pair of shoes and found these cute shoes.

ABSOLUTELY love them...so comfortable...so adorable...and I think that I may become addicted to buying these shoes.  If you don't know anything about TOMS shoes, it is really cool because every pair of shoes you buy, they give one pair to a child who doesn't have shoes.  So really you buy two pairs of shoes for the price of one.

After shopping there for awhile we decided to go have a light lunch at the Alpine Inn which was also wonderful.
and then had this amazing dessert...

After filling ourselves, we decided to make our way over to Prairie Berry Winery, and do a little wine tasting.

It was so fun, and we tried some interesting wines, but it was really fun to try...My favorite that I tried was the gold digger...intersting name...but it was pretty tasty.

It was fun to be spontaneous and just enjoy our time together.
After all that we then made our way back to Rapid City, and it was such a beautiful drive.  The trees were covered with snow and it was just perfect.

Well, if the day couldn't get any better, we then made our way over to one of my favorite stores, TJ Maxx and found some great deals...one by the way is this amazing lamp that I found for my room and absolutely love...

It is simple and modern, and just absolutely perfect, and the best part is that it was the perfect price.  I love good deals!
We continued shopping, and then finished off the day by our usual stop at Someone's in the Kitchen to get a latte/coffee for the road trip back home.

The day ended with church and spending time with friends.  Couldn't get much better.  God is so good, and I love that he gives us time and people to share life with and fun adventures.

HGTV:Dream Home - Inspiration

HGTV has a dream home giveaway every year, and this year the home is absolutely beautiful...
Here is the front of the house

This is the amazing kitchen

The guest bedroom

This is the ski dorm...how sweet is that...

Another closer view

The time period to enter has officially ended...I just found out, but I still wanted to share a few of the photos.  I love the colors in the home and the decorating.  The location is great as well...
It's easy to look at something like this and think it would be so wonderful to have.  But I want to be content with what I have.  It's great to have these things, but that is not all what life is meant for.  In our society the bigger the better, the more expensive or the better designer than you have made it.  We are always looking for the next thing.  Always looking to impress and have others notice us.  What if we really didn't care about all that stuff, and our main goal in life was to live for the glory of God.  What if our lives were an expression of his heart for us and a reflection of Him moving in and through us.  What if we didn't care about what others thought, and lived with one goal in mind...to love god and to love others.  When it all comes down to it that is what the kingdom of God is all about.  It's not about the fancy stuff, the brochures or handouts, etc.  Its simply loving God with all our soul mind and strength, and loving our neighbor as ourself.  What does that look like?  I am a long way from finding out, but I am learning that it is so simple.  We try to make God so complex and try to fit into a little box, but we can't.  God is so simple, his love is so freely given and he desires tha we recieve it.
So I don't know exactly where I am going with this post, and it went on a completely different track than when I started, but all in all I just want to say that I don't want to look at homes like this or clothes I wish I had or look at someones life and compare myself to that.  I want to be content with what I have here and now with what God has given me.  He is in control and he is more than able to give, but I don't need "stuff" to be satisfied.  I need Jesus...

Today...

Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the everyday, mundane routine of life, and we lose perspective of God at work in our lives.  He is continually working, continually moving...God is waiting knocking at the door of our hearts, asking for us to be in relationship with him.  He wants the best for us, he desires to see his purpose for us fulfiled, and he will use various circumstance whether good or bad to accomplish his work in our lives.
Let us not become complacent, but let us see to live for something greater than ourselves.  Everyday is a new day to live for him...a new day to walk out his plan and purpose and to make HIS name known...AMEN!

Bieber Fever...

Justin Bieber...what do you think when you hear that name?  He seems to be everywhere these days...in theaters, radio, t-shirts, etc....Young girls go crazy for him (and some old),  others are so wild about him, and there are some who have no idea who he is (which is a very small portion of the population in the US right).  Justin Bieber is everywhere...BEIBER FEVER as many might say.  I do have to say though, he songs are pretty catchy and he is a very talented singer and musician.  And for the last couple weeks I have had his song stuck in my head, and although it is a great song, I would really like to get it out...Never say Never Justin, Never say Never...It is a great message to never give up but I am about giving up on getting Justin Bieber songs out of my head...I am not a crazed fan, but I enjoy enjoy occasionally indulging in some Bieber music...its fun to listen to and catchy.  He is also a great singer and musician...Anyways,  Hoping that someday(hopefully sooner than later) I will get this song out of my head so I can enjoy it again another day...

Selah

Psalm 62

1 I am at rest in God alone;
    my salvation comes from Him.
    2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my stronghold; I will never be shaken.
    3 How long will you threaten a man?
    Will all of you attack
    as if he were a leaning wall
    or a tottering stone fence?
    4 They only plan to bring him down
    from his high position.
    They take pleasure in lying;
    they bless with their mouths,
    but they curse inwardly.

          Selah
    5 Rest in God alone, my soul,
    for my hope comes from Him.
    6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my stronghold; I will not be shaken.
    7 My salvation and glory depend on God;
    my strong rock, my refuge, is in God.
    8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
    pour out your hearts before Him.
    God is our refuge.

         Selah
    9 Men are only a vapor;
    exalted men, an illusion.
    On a balance scale, they go up;
    together they [weigh] less than a vapor.
    10 Place no trust in oppression,
    or false hope in robbery.
    If wealth increases,
    pay no attention to it.
    11 God has spoken once;
    I have heard this twice:
    strength belongs to God,
    12 and faithful love belongs to You, LORD.
    For You repay each according to his works.

Inspiration

I N S P I R A T I O N : {in-spuh-rey-shuhn} - (n.) something inspired, as an idea.  a result of inspired activity.

After long cold winter days, I think we all look forward to spring, warmth, sunshine, green grass, flowers, etc.  I am sooo ready.  Here is a little inspiration.

Springtime pink and blues

Have a wonderful tuesday!  Be inspired, encouraged, blessed, fulfilled, and enjoy each moment of your day...

HE is Present...

Well today I have the day off...what to do...
on days like these I have realized that I need to make a list of things that need to get done.  I feel so productive when I can cross something off on that list.  At the moment I am having fun checking something of the list by writing in homemade cards to friends and family who live far away.

Later on I am going to workout, then go read at a coffee shop and maybe do some job searching...

Anyways, it is nice to have some time to rest and just enjoy being with nothing specific to do.  There are no special requirements only to be and rest in the day that God has given me to live.  You never know what he is going to do or how/where he is going to use you.  He is always present, always moving, and wanting to use us to accomplish his purpose on the earth.  How humbling...
"BE STILL...and KNOW that I AM GOD...Psalm 46:10
Sometimes we just need to BE...to rest...
I am doing a Beth Moore bible study on David: seeking a heart like his.

It has been such a wonderful study.  This morning, as I was finishing up this weeks homework, I was reminded of God's presence in my life and his continued faithfulness from the time I was a little girl.  When I was young and really throughout my life I have dealt with a lot of fears.  One particular fear I had was a fear that someone would come and take me or hurt my family at night.  I couldn't sleep and these constant thoughts of harm just really overtook me.  Jesus came in and gave me peace...I began to see angels in my room when I would sleep at night.  I would see them all around my bed and my door and window.  In that moment I knew that Jesus was with me.  That he was presense was present and it help to calm me.  I recently came across a scripture in Psalm 91:9 which says, "If you say, 'The Lord is my refuge' and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways..."  How amazing...I am just overwhelmed with God's love and his faithfulness.  He is so amazing.  No words can describe Him! You are faithful and your word is true.
His presence is present...He makes himself known.  He reveals his heart and shows us his love for us each day.  He desires to feed us with the bread of His presence.  His table is always set.  He is always speaking.  God give me a hunger for our word...That I would desire you above anything else.  Make me aware of your presence in my life so that I have the assurance no matter what the circumstance you are with me.
Selah...

What I Have Been Listening to Lately...

Sponsor a Child in Ethiopia Today!!!

YOU can make the difference in the life of ONE child...Sponsorship...

Sponsorship is a really unique and amazing way to impact the life of a child.  $35/month provides food, education, clothing, etc for the child in Ethiopia.  When I was in Ethiopia I saw the difference in the lives of children who were sponsored.  They were healthy and thriving and able to get care for health issues and food, etc.  Just $35 dollars makes such a difference.

Your sponsorship of $35 a month provides:
-Food aid for the child and their families
-Uniforms
-School fees
-Bible Study and Care at the project
-Teaching of life skills and more

You will have opportunities to write them, and send gifts with traveling teams. You will also get letters and update on your child. You are welcome to go visit them!

Your sponsorship opens doors of relationship, belonging, opportunity and a future for a precious child loved deeply by you Heavenly Father. As you sponsor child grows through this project they have a chance for a better future for them and the generations to come.

There are SO MANY children waiting for a sponsor family.
If you are interested would please send me an email to mattamanda@wildbule.net
The time is short. I am praying these children could get the food aid they so desperately need right now, we want to send the funds and notice they are sponsored Feb. 1 with the sponsorship wire that is monthly sent.

Two ways to help:
1. Sponsor a child, become their advocate, pray for them, provide for them, and welcome them into your heart and family

2. There is immediate need for aid for children who are in very difficult situations that need help until they get sponsored.
If you are willing to make a one time donation to help unsponsored children you can on paypal at
www.lookdevelopment.org
put the purpose as 'aid for unsponsored children"

Thank you for your compassion, care, and love for these children and for taking the time to read this. I urge you to Prayerfully consider how you can help the life of a child in Ethiopia!
