Another closer view

The time period to enter has officially ended...I just found out, but I still wanted to share a few of the photos.  I love the colors in the home and the decorating.  The location is great as well...
It's easy to look at something like this and think it would be so wonderful to have.  But I want to be content with what I have.  It's great to have these things, but that is not all what life is meant for.  In our society the bigger the better, the more expensive or the better designer than you have made it.  We are always looking for the next thing.  Always looking to impress and have others notice us.  What if we really didn't care about all that stuff, and our main goal in life was to live for the glory of God.  What if our lives were an expression of his heart for us and a reflection of Him moving in and through us.  What if we didn't care about what others thought, and lived with one goal in mind...to love god and to love others.  When it all comes down to it that is what the kingdom of God is all about.  It's not about the fancy stuff, the brochures or handouts, etc.  Its simply loving God with all our soul mind and strength, and loving our neighbor as ourself.  What does that look like?  I am a long way from finding out, but I am learning that it is so simple.  We try to make God so complex and try to fit into a little box, but we can't.  God is so simple, his love is so freely given and he desires tha we recieve it.
So I don't know exactly where I am going with this post, and it went on a completely different track than when I started, but all in all I just want to say that I don't want to look at homes like this or clothes I wish I had or look at someones life and compare myself to that.  I want to be content with what I have here and now with what God has given me.  He is in control and he is more than able to give, but I don't need "stuff" to be satisfied.  I need Jesus...
